Florida Man Wanted By Police Arrested After Streaming Live Video Of Himself On Social Media
DAYTONA BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) — A Florida felon wanted for violation of probation was arrested after sheriff's deputies in Volusia County were notified that he was streaming on Facebook Live, officials said.
The livesteam showed Timothy Munford, 25, streaming video of himself driving to Southside Jet Ski and renting a watercraft on Friday. The Facebook video also showed a Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety officer approach and arrest him.
The Volusia County Sheriff's office said they had been advised that Munford was known to be armed with a handgun with an extended magazine.
During a search of Munford's vehicle, investigators found silver Taurus G2c handgun with one round chambered and 24 rounds in an extended magazine; a black Taurus G2c handgun with one round chambered and 23 rounds in an extended magazine and an extra magazine with six rounds, the sheriff's office said in a news release.
Investigators also found a bag of powder which tested presumptive positive for fentanyl; two bags of marijuana; and cash, the release said.
Munford was charged with three counts of possession of a weapon/ammunition by a convicted felon, trafficking in fentanyl and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
He is being held without bond in Volusia County and is awaiting extradition back to Marion County, where he was wanted on violation of probation in an obstructing justice/harassing case.
