Florida Gulf Coast defeats Florida A&M 77-68

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Brett Comer scored 24 points with five assists and Florida Gulf Coast defeated Florida A&M 77-68 Sunday at the Las Vegas Classic.

Florida Gulf Coast (6-6) snapped a two-game losing skid and handed Florida A&M (2-10) its fifth-straight loss.

Comer scored 18 points in the second half, and his layup tied the game at 57. Comer's steal led to a Bernard Thompson tip-in giving Florida Gulf Coast a 59-57 lead and the Eagles led the rest of the way. Another steal and an assist by Comer led to a Filip Cvjeticanin dunk. FGCU then led 67-59 with 4:33 to play.

Comer was 10 of 10 from the line. Cvjeticanin scored 15 points, and Dajuan Graf added 11 for the Eagles.

Florida A&M led 39-35 at halftime, but opened the second half missing seven of the first ten shots from the field. Jamie Adams scored 21 points to lead the Rattlers.
