Florida Creates Increase In Private-Sector Jobs
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – As the job market continues to struggle nationwide, those looking for work in Florida got some good news in May.
The state added 17,440 jobs according to a report by ADP which provides human resource, payroll and other employer services.
This year's increase was more than double compared to last year. In 2012, the private-sector job gain for Florida was 6,316, according to the Sun Sentinel.
In construction and mining, 3,720 jobs were added making it one of the biggest increases in May. Business and professional services also created 3,690 new jobs and about 1,000 jobs in manufacturing were lost, according to the paper.
Florida had one of the strongest boosts in U.S. private sector jobs. Nationally, the overall employment increased by a total of 135,000 jobs from April to May.
