Florida Cornerback Janoris Jenkins Arrested On Pot Charge
GAINESVILLE - (CBS4/AP) -For a third time in a year, Janoris Jenkins has been arrested. The latest arrest occurred early Saturday when police say he was spotted sitting in a parked car smoking a marijuana cigar.
The Gainesville police report says the Florida cornerback was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, which is considered a misdemeanor.
He was released after signing a notice to appear in court on May 12.
In January, Jenkins was arrested on the same charge. In that case, he accepted a plea deal and paid $316. In May of 2009, he was arrested during a downtown fight. He agreed to probation and community service for that incident.
University officials did not immediately comment on the case Saturday.
