Florida AG: Broward Company To Reimburse Customers
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - A Broward County company will pay back millions of dollars to consumers of it's acai diet pills, teeth whiteners and colon cleaners to settle a lawsuit with the state, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, state officials had investigated online outfit XM Brands, which also did business as XM Labs LLC, amid allegations that it billed shoppers for products they did not order and sent items on a monthly basis that were advertised as a trial offer
More than 2,800 customers from around the country called in complaints to the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Florida and the Caribbean.
State regulators say the company has been compliant with the investigation and have already paid about $3 million in restitution.
The state is still taking claims from customers owed a refund. April 29 is the cut off date to file a claim. Call (866) 966-7226 or go to myfloridalegal.com if you feel you are owed money.
