FL State Coach Optimistic About New Faces
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP) — Florida State's coach believes despite a lot of new faces, his team won't look much different than the squad that finished 12-2 and ranked No. 10 last season.
Coach Jimbo Fisher answered questions during the media day, Sunday.
Most of the questions involved the competition for the starting quarterback job now that EJ Manuel plays for the Buffalo Bills.
Fisher says he won't be rushed into making a choice between redshirt freshman Jameis Winston and redshirt sophomore Jacob Coker.
Winston had a stellar showing in the spring game, completing 12 of 15 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns in a quarter against the Seminoles' first team defense.
Florida State will face Pittsburgh in the opener on Sept. 2.
