Fire Severely Damages Lauderhill Apartment
LAUDERHILL (CBS4) - Lauderhill firefighters had to break through walls of flame and thick black smoke to rescue two people from a burning second floor apartment.
Investigators said the fire started in the second floor apartment in the 7000 block of NW 50th Street and quickly spread throughout the unit.
Two residents of the apartment building were treated for smoke inhalation but did not need to be taken to the hospital. The mother and child who lived in the severely damaged unit were not at home at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
