NORTH MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) - Dozens of residents living in the Palm Towers building in North Miami-Dade were evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a kitchen fire on the 11th floor.
The building, located on NW 95th street at NW 10th Avenue, is home to elderly residents with medical conditions.
None of the residents suffered serious injuries, but half a dozen of them were treated on the scene.
The kitchen fire was moderate and caused minimal damage to the apartment. However, the sprinklers caused flooding and the power had to be shut off to the entire building.
