Fire Displaces Pembroke Pines Townhouse Residents
PEMBROKE PINES - (CBSMiami.com) - Several residents who lived in a Pembroke Pines townhouse now find themselves temporarily homeless after a fire tore through the structure Saturday afternoon.
The Pembroke Pines Fire Department said an electrical outlet in one of the kitchens may be to blame for the blaze. The fire's damage is estimated at $50,000 and fortunately for residents at the Westview Townhouses at 9451 NW 14th Court none of them suffered any injuries.
Several neighbors called 911 sometime at 5 p.m. saying they were witnessing smoke pouring out from one of the units. Firefighters who responded to the fire were able to extinguish the blaze within minutes of their arrival, the Pembroke Pines Fire Department said in a statement.
The exact cause of the fire is being investigated. Meanwhile, the American Red Cross helped displace residents.
