Fire At Miami Beach Apartment Displaces Dozens Of Residents
MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) - The Red Cross is helping residents who were forced out after a unit inside their apartment building went up in flames.
Miami Beach Fire Captain Adonis Garcia told CBS4 News that units responded to the apartment building at 255 West 24 Street after receiving reports about a suspicious fire on the 3rd floor.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames to one apartment, but smoke damage spread to the first and second floors which forced the evacuation of the entire building.
Of the 77 units, 55 were occupied.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
