DAVIE (CBSMiami) – One of the Miami Dolphins newest players had a big impact on the team's Week 1 victory over the Washington Redskins.
Tight end Jordan Cameron is hoping for a repeat performance this Sunday when Miami battles the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Cameron spoke with CBS4 Sports anchor Jim Berry on Thursday and said that some extra practice time with quarterback Ryan Tannehill has really paid off.
After a quiet preseason for the 5th year pro, Cameron proved to be a big threat in his Dolphins debut.
Time and again, he got open against the Redskins and Tannehill wisely locked in on him.
Cameron hauled in four passes for 74 yards, including an impressive 27-yard diving catch.
He's a big, athletic target with good hands who can stretch the field.
Cameron is an established pro but folks mix him up with another NFL player who has a similar name, something that Jordan finds amusing as they play completely different positions.
The Dolphins are glad to have Cameron on the team. He's a real student of the game, as you'll see in the full interview which airs during the Dolphins pregame show this Sunday on CBS4.
