Fins To Face Cowboys In Hall Of Fame Game

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Dolphins fans looking to get an early look at the team will be happy with the team's latest announcement. The Dolphins have been selected to play the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL Hall of Fame Game, which is the first game of the preseason on August 4.

The Dolphins have never won a Hall of Fame Game and Dallas is just 1-3 in the games all time. The last time the Fins played in the Hall of Fame game was in 2005 when the team lost to the Chicago Bears. Dallas won its last appearance in Canton, Ohio in 2010 over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Fins will look a lot different from the team that was last on the field at the end of the 2012 regular season. Miami has spent big money in the offseason on free agents like wide receiver Mike Wallace, tight end Dustin Keller, and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe.

The Dolphins also have plenty of firepower in the NFL Draft with five of the first 100 picks to further improve the team. If all of the players come in ready to play and can make the difference general manager Jeff Ireland believes they can, it will be a welcome sight for Fins fans everywhere.

While the Hall of Fame game will be the end of the special weekend in Canton, the biggest part of the ceremony will be the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The lineup of players and executives going in to the Hall of Fame is a who's-who of stars including:

Guard Larry Allen, wide receiver Cris Carter, defensive tackles Curley Culp and Warren Sapp, tackle Jonathan Ogden, linebacker Dave Robinson, and former coach Bill Parcells.

Tickets for the NFL/Hall of Fame Game are priced at $52, $62, $67, and $72 and can be ordered online at Profootballhof.com or by calling Turnstile Ticketing at 877- 464-9526.
