Fins' Soliai Selected To 2012 NFL Pro Bowl
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins face a tough financial decision with nose tackle Paul Soliai this offseason and it just got more expensive.
Soliai was selected to replace Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata in the 2012 NFL Pro Bowl. It's the first Pro Bowl selection for Soliai.
"It's an honor to be named to the Pro Bowl," said Soliai. "I am looking forward to going to Hawaii and representing the Dolphins as well as the AFC, I would like to thank everyone who helped me get here."
Soliai was tagged as the Dolphins' franchise player in 2011 and it cost the Dolphins more than $10 million in a one-year contract.
The Dolphins now have to decide if they want to pay Soliai that much and more in a long-term contract.
Soliai is in his fifth-year after being drafted by the Dolphins out of the University of Utah. He started 12 games in 2011 and played in all 16 games.
He finished the year with 27 tackles, two tackles for loss, and two passes defensed.
Soliai joins Brandon Marshall and Jake Long as Dolphins selected to the Pro Bowl squad.
