Fins Sign Linebacker Marvin Mitchell
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Miami Dolphins announced Monday that they have signed free agent linebackers Marvin Mitchell to be the newest Fins reserve player.
Mitchell has played four seasons in the NFL, all with the New Orleans Saints, and has typically been used on special teams. He's played in 55 career games and started two of those games. For his career, he has 1 sack and two forced fumbles.
Mitchell's name may ring a bell for Florida Gators fans because he played his college ball at the University of Tennessee. As a Volunteer, he played in 40 games and started 15 of those games. He led the Vols team in tackles in 2006 with 104.
Mitchell is listed as a linebacker, but his best value may be on special teams based on his career with the Saints.
