'Fins Randy Starks Picked To Play In Pro Bowl
MIAMI (CBS4) -- Miami Dolphins defensive end Randy Starks has been added to the 2011 AFC Pro Bowl team as a replacement for Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel, who will participate in the Super Bowl. The seven-year pro from Maryland started all 16 games in 2010, once at nose tackle and 15 times at defensive end for Miami. Starks finished the season with 30 tackles and was tied for third on the team in sacks with three sacks for 20 yards in losses.
Starks joins Jake Long and Cameron Wake as Pro Bowl selections from the Miami Dolphins in 2011, along with long snapper John Denney, who was added to the squad as the 43rd player (coach's selection). Long has withdrawn from the game due to injury. The four selections are the most for the Dolphins since 2003, when defensive end Adewale Ogunleye, safety Brock Marion, cornerback Patrick Surtain and linebacker Zach Thomas played in the postseason All-Star game. The 2011 Pro Bowl will take place on January 30 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
