Fins Interviewing Packers Assistant
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Miami Dolphins will continue their head coaching search into the weekend when they will interview Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin.
The Dolphins have struggled offensively for more than a decade and the one thing you can't say about the Packers the past few years is that they don't have a prolific offense.
But, Philbin is not in charge of calling plays for the Packers unstoppable offense. Head coach Mike McCarthy handles all play-calling for the 15-1 defending Super Bowl champion Packers.
Still, Philbin handles all of the game-planning for the Packers.
Philbin, along with Bears special teams coordinator Dave Toub who interviewed yesterday, are most likely fall-back positions if the Dolphins can't swing the man at the top of their list, former Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher.
Unlike other coaches like Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden, Fisher has never won the Super Bowl and would likely continue to have the fire in his gut to work extra hours and put in the necessary work to rebuild the once proud Dolphins franchise.
