Fins Ink Matt Moore To New Deal
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins wasted little time inking its second free agent of the day Friday, re-signing backup quarterback Matt Moore to a new contract, according to NFL.com's Jeff Darlington.
Moore was going to hit free agency next week and be arguably the best quarterbacks available, but chose instead to re-sign with Miami.
The signing solidifies Miami's quarterback corps and gives the coaching staff the comfort of knowing they have a backup quarterback who can come into the game and get the job done at a high level at any time.
Moore competed last year with Tannehill for the job in training camp, but eventually lost out to the Fins first-round pick last year.
Moore played in two games last season and complete 11-19 passes for 131 yards and 1 touchdown. He started 12 games the year before and posted a 16-9 touchdown to interception ratio and an overall quarterback rating of 87.1.
