Fight At Hialeah High School Prompts Lockdown

HIALEAH (CBSMIAMI) -- Students were rushed out of Hialeah High School Wednesday after a disturbance at the school.

The school had to be placed under a precautionary lockdown while a controlled dismissal was conducted.

One student told CBS4's Travell Eiland they were in the hallway when they heard officers running past them,screaming for them to get into the classroom.

It all happened after a group of students had a fight in the lunch room, according to the Miami Dade School Board. No one was injured.

One student said they were on lockdown for about two and a half hours.  He also said there have been several fights in the school this week.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Miami-Dade Schools Police tweeted out saying the school was safe.

Police said they did not arrest anyone.
