Fiery Accident Snarls I-95 Traffic, Sends Two To Hospital
DANIA BEACH (CBS4) -Two people were taken to the hospital after a motorcycle flew over a freeway on-ramp and onto a car below.
The accident shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 for more than an hour during Monday's rush hour.
Florida Highway Patrol officials say Ricardo Lampert, 22, lost control of his motorcycle while traveling on the overpass to I-595/State Road 84 and flew off of his bike. The bike flipped over the side of the overpass railing and onto a car below, driven by Bret Eric Krupnik, 40. The impact caused the car to burst into flames.
Despite the severity of the crash, Broward Sheriff's Office investigators tell CBS4 News that both the Lampert and Krupnik suffered non-life threatening injuries.
