MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Fidel Castro has broken his silence on the renewed diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United Sates on Monday.
As reported by CBS4's news partner the Miami Herald, Castro sent a message to the University Students Federation regarding the issue.
"Any peaceful or negotiated solution to the problems between the United States and the peoples or any people of Latin America that doesn't imply force or the use of force should be treated in accordance with international norms and principles.
"We will always defend cooperation and friendship with all the peoples of the world, among them our political adversaries."
But Castro did add that he doesn't have confidence in U.S. policy nor has he exchanged "a single word with them."
