FBI Makes Arrest In Jan. Armored Car Robbery
PLANTATION (CBSMiami) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Friday that it had made an arrest in an armored car robbery in Sunrise in January.
The FBI said it arrested Christopher Ferguson, 40, around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night in Plantation. Ferguson was arrested by a litany of law enforcement including the FBI, Broward Sheriff's Office, Sunrise Police, and Plantation Police, among others.
The armored car robbery took place outside of the Space Coast Credit Union at Atrium West on the 7000 block of W. Oakland Park Boulevard. One of the guards left the truck to enter the credit union while carrying a bag of money.
The guard was jumped by two men and forced to the ground as the money bags were ripped from his grasp. The two robbers took off in a getaway vehicle, but the guards fired on the car as it sped away.
