FBI Investigating Three Broward Bank Robberies
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - The Federal Bureau of Investigations is trying to determine if three bank heists which took place over the span of an hour Wednesday in three Broward County cities are linked.
The first robbery occurred at a Wells Fargo Bank at 5991 Ravenswood Road in Fort Lauderdale around 1 p.m. The robber entered the bank and told employees that he had a weapon. There were no injuries, and the suspect made off with an undetermined amount of cash.
In the second robbery happened around 1:50 p.m. at the BB&T Bank at 300 E. Sample Road in Pompano Beach. The robbery was similar to the first. The suspect entered the bank and implied he had a weapon. No employees were injured in the robbery, and the suspect fled the bank branch with an unknown amount of money.
The last robbery at the Chase Bank around 1:55 p.m. at 1031 S. Military Trail in Deerfield Beach. Authorities were able to arrest the suspect. At this time, it is not believe the suspect in involved in the other two robberies.
The FBI believes the same suspect committed the first two robberies and need the public's help in finding him.
