FBI Investigating Suspicious Substance At West Palm Beach Home
WEST PALM BEACH (CBS4) – The FBI is investigating a suspicious substance found at a home in an upscale South Florida gated community.
FBI authorities said they found a hazardous substance or chemical inside the West Palm Beach home, located at 10368 Osprey Trace in the Ibis Golf and Country Club.
According to an FBI statement released Friday, the home was evacuated and cordoned off.
"We conducted an interview at a residence inside. Through that interview and other means it was determined there may be hazardous substances and chemicals inside," the FBI said in a statement.
The statement continued saying, "Out of an abundance of caution, the area has been cordoned off and the residence was evacuated. As a precautionary measure, a specially equipped team is on site to take part in the investigation which may take an extended period of time."

West Palm Police spokesman Chase Scott said his agency had been working with FBI officials at the home since Thursday night.
Scott said there is no immediate danger to the surrounding homes.
CBS4's Joan Murray talked to a resident who said that Thursday night, residents were told an 18-year-old live at the house in question. Murray reported that apparently some type of questionable substances were delivered to the home and the delivery person alerted security.
"I think it's upsetting if that is the case, because it's a wonderful community," said resident Sue Chieco.
The FBI is being assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (BATF), West Palm Beach Police Department, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, West Palm Beach Fire Rescue, and IBIS Public Safety Department.
