FBI Arrest Well-Dressed Hallandale Beach Bank Bandit

HALLANDALE BEACH (CBS4) -  The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested the well-dressed man Wednesday afternoon wanted in connection with a daring daylight bank robbery in Hallandale Beach.

Officials said Jeffrey Harrington, 27, is in FBI custody. He was captured at the Green Seas Motel in Hollywood.

"The guy looked like a normal guy that you'd never think would do something like that," said Alex Lopez, the manager of the motel.

Harrington entered the Bank of America at 801 East Hallandale Beach Boulevard with his hair slicked back and wearing a dark suit and tie. He said he had an explosive device before demanding money, according to the FBI.

Customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery but no one was injured.
"He's a sick boy that needs psychiatric help, and drug counseling," said the suspect's mother, Cheryl Harrington.

Harrington says her son's wife left him on Father's Day and that he's not "a monster" but was depressed.

Agents said Harrington left the bank in a taxi.

No information was available as to how much money was taken.
