Father Speaks Out About Beating Son's Alleged Molester
DAYTONA (CBSMiami) – A Daytona Beach father who beat up a man after he says, he found him molesting his 11-year old son spoke out about the incident and the aftermath.
The father said he left 18-year old Raymond Frolander with black eyes, bruises and a busted lip. Frolander faces a charge of sexual battery of a child. He is being held without bond.
"My immediate feeling was to kill him so he will never hurt anyone again", said the father, whose name will not be revealed to protect the family.
He said he lost it when he walked into his apartment and found Frolander naked with his son. Not only did he beat him. He said he went to the kitchen, returned with a knife and almost went too far.
"My son saved Raymond. Raymond was motionless on our floor, I went to the kitchen to grab a butcher knife and my son stopped me. My son came in front of me and saved his attacker's life," said the alleged victim's father.
His father said Frolander was like family and it was not unusual for him to be alone with his kids. It's a decision he regrets.
He said stopping the attack was the easy part but talking to his son about it has been much more difficult.
"I'm not going to pressure anything on him. Like I said, I know exactly what he's going through. When he's ready to talk about it, he will," said his father.
The Daytona Beach News Journal reports the father took to social media on Monday to asked for a million dollars in donations to help rebuild his son's life.
He even included a picture of the boy. That page was taked down. It came as the child's father granted an interview explaining why he took matters into his own hands. The site pulled in $145, according to the journal, before it was take down.
Police in Dayton Beach said they are dumbfounded as to why the father would take to social media to plea for money.
