Man Killed At Pompano Beach Birthday Party
DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) – Broward Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested the man they believe is responsible for shooting and killing a Deerfield Beach man attending a party Sunday morning in Pompano Beach.
The victim, later identified as 26-year-old Emanuel Joseph, was said to be at a party with over 100 people located 320 N.E. 30 Court.
At 3:39 a.m., BSO said they received a phone call regarding a shooting at the house. When the police arrived at the scene, no one was there.
Moments later, authorities were notified that Joseph had been driven to Broward Health North hospital by someone who was at the party with him, according to Broward Sheriff's Office.
Joseph was pronounced dead at the hospital.
After receiving a tip identifying the shooter, BSO homicide detectives brought in 25-year-old Marckenson Demard, of Deerfield Beach, for questioning.
Demard told detectives that the shooting was an accident and that he and Joseph were friends, said detectives.
Demard was arrested Monday morning and is being faced with one count of second-degree murder.
