Family Makes Plea In Deadly Coral Springs Stabbing Case
CORAL SPRINGS (CBS4) – The family of a Coral Springs man made a plea Friday afternoon following the stabbing death of their son, Michael Todd Hamilton.
Hamilton, 31, was found murdered on July 10th in his apartment in the 9800 block of NW 33rd Street by his roommate, Stephanie Adams. Adams told police when she arrived home around 1:00 a.m. that morning, she found him dead on the floor.
"He did nothing but serve the community with a smile. He was not an angry man, he was a kind gentle soul and for someone to go into his apartment and take his life in such a way it is horrific," said Hamilton's mother Cathy Hamilton-Green.
But Coral Springs police have released what may lead to new clues in Hamilton's murder. Video taken July ninth shows Hamilton getting on and off several Broward county buses in the Sawgrass and Oakland Park areas. He's wearing a gray shirt and black pants and carrying a backpack. Police say in the hours after this video was taken, someone murdered him.
When police inspected Hamilton's body, they found what appeared to be multiple puncture wounds on his upper chest, and signs that his throat had been cut, a search warrant said.
Hamilton-Greene begged for someone to come forward with information.
"No mother should have to know that their son was murdered and I'm asking you, the public to please look at the video please watch the video closely see my son he was out there the day he was murdered hours before – this is all we have left of our son, please," said Hamilton-Green.
