Family Of Woman Killed In Home Invasion Seeks Help
NORTH MIAMI BEACH (CBS4)---New composite sketches were released after two robbers took the life of a 29-year-old mother and nursing student. Her grieving loved ones have appealed to the public for help.
"What I'd like to say is we'd like to see justice for my sister," said Shedeline Noel, the sister of Guerline Noel. "She meant a lot to me. She meant everything to me."
Shedeline Noel broke down in tears and was unable to finish her comments as she was embraced by her mother.
Noel's sister---Guerline Noel---was shot and killed early on the morning of July 4th when the robbers fired more than a dozen rounds into a bathroom where she had been ordered to go to while the men searched the home at Northeast 2nd Avenue and 175th Terrace.
Shedeline Noel was inside that bathroom with her along with her sister's three-year-old son Marvin and her husband Clauvens Cenor.
"It's very tough," said Cenor. He told CBS4's Peter D'Oench, "The family is going through a tough time right now. It would really mean a lot to me if this could be solved. It's never going to go away without an arrest."
"All I can say is this could have been your family," he said. "This could have been you. I just hope the detectives can catch whoever did this. She was a very good mother. She was very good to the family."
With help from a sketch artist from the Broward Sheriffs Office, North Miami Beach Police released two new composite sketches of the suspects. Both are described by police as black males between the ages of
20 and 25. They were wearing black skullys. Police say one suspect had dark skin, was 5 feet 9 inches tall and had a stocky or muscular build.
He also had a full beard and mustache and was wearing black clothing.
They say the second suspect had a medium complexion, was between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall and had a thin or medium build. Police say he had a goatee
And a mustache and was also wearing black clothing.
Guerline Noel was a nursing student at KeiserUniversity.
Police say she went out to her car around 12:30 in the morning. That's when police say two men forced her inside the home at 250 NE 175th Terrace.
Clauvens Cenor said their three-year-old son, her mother and her sisters were inside the home when the armed men stormed in.
Noel's family said one of them held a gun to Guerline's head as they demanded money from her family. Cenor said they told the armed men that they didn't keep any money in the house.
Cenor said he, his wife, their son and one of their sisters were held hostage in a bathroom while Noel's mother and other sister were kept in another room.
He said he was able to escape through a bathroom window and run for help.
When Guerline Noel tried to escape, the robbers fired about a dozen rounds into the bathroom, killing her. Police said she was holding.
"She was a hero," said Detective Cora Mann. "She sacrificed herself so she could save her family. Now we hope that someone will come forward and give this family closure. Maybe someone heard someone talking about
this or saw something and can help."
Noel's sister got out of the bathroom and escaped through a bedroom window. The couple's child was not hurt. Cenor said they were locked in the bathroom so the men could search the rest of the house.
Mann said she could not say if anything was taken by the robbers.
"We have to keep some details private because of the ongoing investigation," she said.
She said this could have been a random attack. It's not why the robbers targeted Noel's home.
Cenor said he didn't recognize the men and thinks his family was targeted because of the two Porsche vehicles that were parked in the driveway.
