Family Desperate For Answers In Case Of Missing Mom
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Police fear foul play in the case of a missing mother from Fort Lauderdale.
Trukita Scott, known to her family and friends as "Kita," has been missing since Wednesday.
Now, those who love her are desperately looking for answers -- and trying to figure out what to tell her children, a one-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl. "At the end of the day, who's feeling that really matters is theirs," said her fiancé Al Livingston, pointing to her children, "because they're young and innocent and they don't know no better."
Kita's mom and dad are afraid. They realized something was wrong last Wednesday when the kid's school called asking why she hadn't picked up her children.
"She'd never leave the kids at school," said her mom Kengreal Allen Scott. "She would never leave them at school. Leave them with someone she could have trusted, possibility, but never at school." Investigators in Fort Lauderdale are afraid she's in trouble too.
They're looking at friends and ex's hoping to get more information.
The family tells CBS4 Carl Watts is the father of her little boy. BSO said he's the guy on surveillance video -- accused of trying to kidnap a 16-year-old girl from a bus stop last month. He was arrested on the charge and bonded out of jail.
Kita's mom said her daughter was afraid of Watts. The mom called him the moment she learned Kita was gone. "He said 'I don't know what you're taking about, I'm with my brother and I'm getting ready to drop him off,'" Allen Scott recalled him saying, "I'll call you back and he never answered the phone after that."
Livingston and Kita have a three-year-old girl. Last Wednesday, he said they exchanged text messages from the moment Kita left the house. "Baby I love you and miss you already," Livingston read from his text messages.
He said the last message he got was just after three in the afternoon. "The last thing that at 3:19 I said, 'I love you so much beautiful' and she text back at 4:00 and said 'I love you too bae'."
Police are looking for her gold, Nissan Altima. It's missing along with Kita. It has a Florida tag, BCVX16.
