On Thursday, Lawmakers in the U.S. House voted to essentially halt a program aimed at resettling thousands of Syrian refugees fleeing their war-torn homeland.
Jim DeFede will highlight how all of the members of Congress in South Florida voted.
Those who voted against (like Alcee Hastings, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Lois Frankel) noted how we are betraying our own values by denying refuge to women and children.
While others (Patrick Murphy, Carlos Curbelo, Mario Diaz-Balart) said we have to keep America safe no matter what the cost.
