A few weeks ago on Facing South Florida we unveiled our latest findings in the Race Matters series.
We reviewed every single misdemeanor marijuana arrest in Dade County for the last five years.
More than 50,000 cases worked by every police agency in the county.
What we found were sharp racial disparities in the cases made by Miami-Dade Police, with black people representing nearly 60% of the people they arrested.
At the time, Miami-Dade Director J.D. Patterson asked for some time to review the numbers.
We gave him that time and when he was ready, CBS4's Jim DeFede sat down with him to talk.
