EXCLUSIVE: Store Owner Arrested In Gambling Machine Bust
SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) - Police served a search warrant at a Southwest Miami-Dade store and brought out 10 gambling machines.
Police filled the parking lot of the Victor Super Dollar store in the 7300 block of Southwest 8th Street for several hours Tuesday afternoon.
The operation drew the attention of people at nearby businesses who wondered why the strip mall parking lot was suddenly filled with vehicles, police, and a K-9.
"When we walked over there we saw them getting all the machines out and it was just incredible it was an incredible scene," said Ramez Karaawi who works at a car lot down the street.
He told CBS4's Maggie Newland that he's been to the store a number of times and would never suspect the owner of doing anything illegal.
Karaawi described him as a "nice guy simple person, very hard working guy comes to work doesn't bother anybody."
After several hours police took a man out of the store in handcuffs. They also removed ten gambling machines, loaded them into trucks and took them away.
