Exclusive: Miramar Man Arrested Amid Bizarre Love Triangle Probe
MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) - CBS4 News has obtained a Miramar Police search warrant that reveals a disturbing kidnapping case where a woman told investigators she was held against her will for about a week by a man she was having an affair with.
The woman said she was beaten and threatened whenever she tried to leave.
The warrant said the woman somehow managed to escape but doesn't explain how.
The search warrant said this all began in Hialeah late last month after a man named Nelson Guerrero and his mistress started arguing about his wife and Guerrero's "infidelity." Disturbingly, the search warrant says Guerrero bit out a chunk of his mistress' private parts then called his wife to tell her that he'd be bringing the injured woman back to their Miramar apartment.
The police search warrant revealed that the victim told police that during captivity, Guerrero "bit her arm, leg and ear," "punched, slapped and pulled the victim's hair," "stabbed her in the hand," and "burned the victim's arm and face with a cigarette, kicked her, threatened to kill her on numerous occasions and even pointed an AK-47 rifle at her head."
Inside the apartment, the search warrant shows that police found an AK-47 with two full magazines as well as a handgun.
Miramar Police said this is an ongoing investigation and they would only say that the victim's injuries appear to be consistent with her story.
The search warrant shows that the woman told police she was able to escape the apartment on May 1st but the warrant does not say how. The search warrant does say it took her several days to tell her story about Guerrero to police, "because she was in fear of retaliation from him."
CBS4's Carey Codd learned in the search warrant that Guerrero's wife spoke to investigators and confirmed that Guerrero told her he bit the woman and was bringing her to their home. The warrant also says that Guerrero's wife "stated that her husband told her that he screwed up referring to the victim's stab wound to the hand."
Someone who works at the apartment complex where this allegedly occurred tells CBS 4 News that he's seen Guerrero with his wife and two children and he seems like an upstanding family man.
Guerrero is being held without bond in jail. He faces several charges -- including kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery. His attorney did not respond to our call or emails. A woman who answered the door at his apartment did not want to answer a reporter's questions.
