Miami-Dade Corrections Sgt. Charged With Attempted Murder
MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – A Miami-Dade Corrections Department sergeant was charged with attempted second-degree murder and aggravated battery with a weapon for shooting her husband, the department's Janelle Hall told CBS4.
Angeleatha Chestnut, 47, is a corrections sergeant with the department's Internal Affairs unit, known as the Professional Compliance Bureau.
Law enforcement sources said the alleged incident took place before the start of the weekend, and may have involved a domestic argument.
Her husband has not been identified by police. However, property records indicate an Angeleatha and Daryle Chestnut own a home together in unincorporated Northwest Miami Dade, near the Golden Glades Interchange.
It is unclear whether that is where the shooting took place.
Miami-Dade Police made the arrest on Friday, Hall said. Chestnut bonded out of jail around 11:15 Saturday morning.
