SUNRISE (CBSMiami) -- A terrifying scene was caught on camera as people on board a Broward County bus scattered for safety when a passenger pulled out a knife and starting attacking another man.
Surveillance cameras onboard a Broward County bus captured the scene last Sunday night around 7:30. Sunrise Police say Junior Normil took a seat near the back of the bus then suddenly got up and confronted the couple sitting in the back row. Investigators say it appears to be jealousy that drove his rage -- police say the victim is dating Normil's ex-girlfriend.

As surveillance cameras rolled, investigators say they showed Normil repeatedly trying to injure the victim -- Daniel Babcock-Roberson. The surveillance video also captured screams of "Don't! Stop! Stop!" from the victim's girlfriend, Jacquelyn Steenkamer.
Police say Normil used a long knife to stab the victim in the shoulder one time as people quickly tried to exit the bus.
Then, police say, Normil calmly walked off the bus towards the Sawgrass Mills Mall and police say he admitted throwing the knife away as he tried to flee. He was arrested a short time later. Investigators say the violence flared because Normil was upset at seeing his ex-girlfriend with another man. The ex-girlfriend, Steenkamer, said it was pure coincidence that the trio wound up on the same bus.
"I noticed him and was like, 'Oh crap,'" Steenkamer said.
She said when she saw the knife in Normil's hand she stepped in to save her boyfriend Babcock-Roberson.
"I stood between him and Daniel and yelling for him to stop," Steenkamer said.
The arrest report said Normil told police that he "snapped" and only stopped attacking the victim because his ex-girlfriend screamed his name. Investigators wrote in the report that the victim "is lucky he is still alive" and that "he intended to stab the victim over and over until he was no longer moving."
The video shows several people on the bus rushing to help the victim after he was stabbed.
"There were some really nice people on the bus who tried to help me and stop the bleeding," Steenkamer said.
The victim, Babcock-Roberson, said he's sharing his story in hopes that someone else will think twice before attacking someone over a failed relationship.
"I just don't want anyone else to go through this," Babcock-Roberson said. "It gets to a point where you feel that way that someone you care about is with someone else, it doesn't have to resort to something like this. That's just how I feel."
Babcock-Roberson said he is recovering from the stabbing and expects to be just fine.
Steenkamer said she and Normil broke up two years ago and there was no history of violence between the couple.
CBS 4 News reached out to Junior Normil's family. They said they cannot believe the accusations against him and that it is completely out of character for him to act so violently.
Junior Normil is being held in the Broward County Jail without bond.
