Exclusive: Arrest Made Days After Shooting Victim's Plea For Justice

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami-Dade Police Detectives made a big arrest in a crime that forever changed the life of a young man the same day he registered for college.
Authorities arrested 21-year old Isaac Glen Coles in connection to the home invasion and robbery.
Without saying a word Miami-Dade police detectives led Coles into jail on Wednesday. His demeanor was much more grim, than in the surveillance video, which police said shows him in a red sweatshirt and two accomplices smiling just moments before shooting Bryan Perez six times putting him in a wheelchair.

Coles is facing charges of attempted felony murder, armed kidnapping, armed burglary, and armed robbery.
Last week, Perez pleaded for the community's help to catch the three armed young men who tried to push their way into his Northeast Miami-Dade home apparently after valuables in a safe inside.
He went on to describe the moments after the shooting which left him with no use of his left leg and minimal use of his right.
"As soon as they put me to sleep, I thought that was the last breath I was gonna take. And when I woke up I told my mom, 'Damn, I've been asleep for 20 minutes' and she said 'No you've been asleep for 4 days'."
Perez and his cousin, Sebastian Antequera, were sitting in an enclosed porch in front of their residence in northeast Miami-Dade the night of August 18th when police say three smiling young men, caught on surveillance video, approached them.
"All of a sudden they just came with three guns," said Perez. "Then they kept trying to break into my house but I wouldn't let them. Like they kept trying to shove me into my house."
Determined to protect his mother and pregnant girlfriend who were inside the home, Bryan fought them off and shut his apartment's sliding glass door.
Before the shooters ran off, they began shooting on Bryan behind the glass, injuring him.
"The moment they shot me everything went black to me. I didn't feel my legs. I fell straight to the ground," Perez recalled.
In addition to focusing on his recovery, the desire for justice is on Bryan's mind every day. He says his dreams of owning his own electrician business may be dashed, if he can not walk again.
Detectives have not revealed how they tracked Coles down but now detectives have their sights set on the two accused accomplices.
"They basically took my life away," said Perez.
Police have not said whether Coles is cooperating with them to help lead them to the other two suspects but the police mission is to get them all in order to find justice for Bryan.
