Elementary Principal Convicted: Tried To Have Sex Tryst With Fl. Teen
WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) - A former elementary school principal has been convicted for trying to arrange a sexual tryst with a teenage boy in South Florida.
Federal prosecutors said 54-year-old Stephen Anthony Paulsen of Fort Worth, Texas, was convicted Thursday of enticing a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity. He is facing a sentence of at least 10 years.
Paulsen was working as a principal in Arlington, Texas, when he was arrested in July.
Prosecutors say he used a social-networking site to send sexually explicit messages to a person he believed to be a 15-year-old. The recipient of the messages was actually an undercover officer.
Paulsen was in Florida visiting family when he was arrested in Boynton Beach as he attempted to meet the boy, who he believed to be home alone.
