Eggelletion Set For Release In February
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami.com) – Former Broward County Commissioner Josephus Eggelletion has a little less than two months left on his federal prison sentence and is expected to be released on February 27, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Eggelletion was sentenced to 2 ½ years in prison after being convicted to money-laundering conspiracy and filing a false tax return.
He also was convicted at the state level for taking bribes from developers.
At the time of his release, Eggelletion will have served roughly one year and 10 months in jail, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Federal prisoners typically don't serve the full term of the sentence.
Eggelletion received time off for good behavior and for completing a substance-abuse program for his alcohol addiction, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
