MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Two cars were involved in a deadly crash early Sunday morning in Miami.
The accident took place at N.W. 16th Terrace and 27th Avenue, around 4 a.m.
Miami Fire Department officials say a white BMW collided with a small SUV, causing the SUV to roll down the street on its side.
The BMW then crashed into a Chevron gas station, igniting the gas pumps and starting a fire.
Officials identified the driver of the BMW as Felix Isaias Ramos, 22, and the passenger as Xavier Armando Fabian, 22. Both were transported to Ryder Trauma Center with serious injuries.
Arriving officers and a good Samaritan helped get them out of the vehicle before it was consumed by fire.
Two people were traveling in the SUV, one of whom was ejected from the vehicle. Police have identified Eric Ricardo Barahona, 38, as the driver.
He was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Ryder Trauma Center but died at the hospital.
The passenger, Howard A. Lara, 40, died on the scene from the impact.
Lara's eldest son, Isander, 17, told CBS4 News that Lara leaves behind 13 children -- the youngest just seven months old.
"My dad, he always loved to do crazy things. He was amazing guy," said Isander. "He always laughed. He always made people laugh. People loved him."
Two other vehicles also crashed as a result of this accident.
