Dwyane Wade To Miss 2012 Olympics
MIAMI - Everyone who watched Dwyane Wade in the NBA playoffs knew something wasn't quite right with his left knee. That knee problem will require surgery and that means Wade is not able to participate on Team USA in the 2012 Olympics.
Wade informed USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo and coach Mike Krzyzewski Thursday that he wasn't healthy enough to play for Team USA.
Wade played through the injury in the playoffs and still managed to average 22.6 points per game during the NBA Finals.
The 2008 Olympic squad saw Wade lead the scoring as Team USA won the gold medal on what many called the Redeem Team.
That team also served to lay the foundation for the eventual union of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Wade for the Miami Heat.
