Dwyane Wade & Sons Pose In Hoodies, Support Trayvon, On Magazine Cover
MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade and his young sons are sending a powerful message as the cover models on this month's edition of Ebony Magazine.
Wade, along with sons Zaire and Zion, are posing in grey hoodie sweatshirts. The words "We Are Trayvon" are shown below them.
The magazine cover was posted to his Instagram account Tuesday night. He captioned the post, "It was a pleasure to stand with my 2boys on this issue for Trayvon Martin."
It's part of a series of covers by Ebony Magazine featuring African-American celebrities and their sons. The others feature actor Boris Kodjoe and film director Spike Lee.
Seventeen year old Martin was wearing a hoodie sweatshirt as he walked in the Sanford gated community and was shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in February 2011. Zimmerman was found not guilty of second degree murder by a jury last month. The controversial case gripped the nation and spurred debates about race relations in America.
