Drivers Rescue Woman Trapped Under Vehicle

A few drivers on Interstate 95 early Monday morning became life savers after rescuing a woman trapped underneath a car.

Two women in a green Ford Explorer were heading north on I-95 when they were involved in an accident near Sunrise Boulevard around 7 am, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver lost control, hit a guard rail and careened back into traffic.  Officials say that at some point the force of the impact threw both women from the vehicle.

Without a driver, the SUV kept going and crashed into a Hyundai.  One of the women was struck by a Ford Crown Victoria, trapping her underneath.

According to officials, motorists stopped to aid the woman by raising the car with a jack.  She suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Broward General Medical Center.

The second woman was also seriously hurt in the crash and taken to BGMC.
