Driver Survives After SUV Flies Off I-95 Ramp
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The driver of an SUV is lucky to be alive after he flew off a ramp to I-95 and fell to the street below.
Around 4:20 a.m., Daniel Sirgany, 30, was heading west on I-195 when he got onto the ramp for southbound I-95, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. For some reason Sirgany swerved into the left lane, hit the curb and slammed into the guard rail. His Mazda SUV then vaulted over rail, and went off the ramp.
It landed on NW 35th Street where it crashed into a bridge abutment.
Sirgany, who was wearing his seatbelt, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious condition. The FHP said alcohol was a factor in the accident.
