MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Rescuers needed a hydraulic tool to extricate a driver from his car following an accident with a school bus.
The collision occurred Friday, just before 6:00 a.m., at N.W. 137th Avenue and N.W. 6th Street.
Police said the school bus pulled out of a parking lot, going southbound on N.W. 137th Ave., when the driver in a Toyota Camry struck the bus.
The impact caused the car to cross the median, coming to rest at the guard rail. Stuck inside his car, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were eventually able to remove the driver.
He was taken to Kendall Regional Trauma Center in critical condition.
