Driver Ejected, Killed In Crash On Palmetto

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) -- One woman was killed and another was hospitalized in a crash along the Palmetto Expressway Sunday.
The crash occurred along the northbound lanes near Northwest 103rd Street.
The driver, Ochun Gutierrez, 24, was not wearing her seatbelt, according to Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez, and was ejected from the vehicle after she lost control and slammed into a concrete wall. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, Karina Nazario, 25, was wearing her seatbelt. She was airlifted to Jackson Memorial's Ryder Trauma Center with serious injuries.
Police are investigating what may have caused the crash.
