Driver Critically Injured In Coral Gables Crash

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after an early morning crash in Coral Gables.
Just after 7 a.m., the driver of an Isuzu Rodeo was slowing down, or stopped, at the light on South Dixie Highway at Riviera Drive when they were rear ended by the driver of a Ford Fusion.
The driver of the Rodeo was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma with critical injuries.
The driver of the Fusion remained on scene and is being investigated for Driving Under the Influence (DUI), according to the Coral Gables Police Department. Alcohol tests are pending.
No other passengers were in either vehicle. The name of the injured driver has not been released.
