Driver Arrested In Fatal Five Car Crash
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Almost two months after causing a five-car crash that ended one man's life Northwest Miami-Dade, the driver at fault was arrested and is now facing serious charges including manslaughter.
Isis Cesar, 36, was arrested Monday for the multiple car crash that ended the life of Juan Liriano, 71, on May 9, 2013.
According to police, around 2 pm, Cesar was driving over 70 mph in a 40 mph speed zone when she crashed into another car making a left intersection of 47th and NW 7th avenue. The impact caused the driver's vehicle to then hit Liriano's car.
Liriano's vehicle became airborne and was then hit again. He died on the scene of the accident.
Cesar, according to reports, was found to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Also, according to police, she told the nurse she takes several medications and smoked marijuana the day before.
On Monday Cesar surrendered to police. She is facing DUI and manslaughter charges.
