Doral: Woods, Mickelson Go In Opposite Directions
DORAL (CBS4) -- Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have returned to Doral, going in opposite directions on a chilly, windy day.
Woods hit a 7-iron from 210 yards with the wind at his back to the par-5 eighth green and made birdie, then finished off his round with a par for a 2-under 70.
Mickelson's tee shot on No. 8 hit a cart path and went into the water. His next shot caught a slope and went into the water again for a double bogey. He was played three holes in 3 over and shot 73.
Hunter Mahan was 8 under with four holes remaining. He was one shot ahead of Ryo Ishikawa of Japan, who was playing his final hole.
The first round had to resume Friday morning because of a storm delay Thursday that toppled two TV towers and the large scoreboard.
