Dolphins Win - QBs Henne, Pennington Injured
MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami lost both Chads to the Titans. Miami Dolphins quarterbacks Chad Henne and Chad Pennington both left Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans after being injured.
Henne left the game a minute or so into the third quarter after he was injured on an incomplete pass to Ronnie Brown.
Pennington's heralded return to helm the Dolphins' offense was less than spectacular.
After two plays into the game against the Tennessee Titans, he injured his troublesome right shoulder and left the game.
On the first play he threw an incomplete pass. He then completed a pass on the second play, called timeout and left the game. After being treated briefly on the bench, Pennington departed through a tunnel accompanied by medical personnel.
Chad Henne, demoted to second string during the week, replaced Pennington and led Miami to a touchdown to complete the drive. Pennington was playing for the first time since a shoulder injury ended his 2009 season in Game 3. He then underwent surgery on the shoulder for the third time.
Tyler Thigpen came in to quarterback the end of the third quarter and fourth quarter. Thigpen led an 85-yard drive in the fourth quarter to seal the bizarre victory. The Dolphins beat the Titans 29 - 17.
The Dolphins (5-4) snapped a five-game home losing streak, including three losses this season. Tennessee (5-4) lost coming off a bye for the first time in five years.
Kerry Collins started at quarterback for the Titans and struggled through the first half before departing with a calf injury. Vince Young replaced him despite a sprained left ankle and threw for only 92 yards with two turnovers.
