Dolphins Sign Safety Brandian Ross To Active Roster
DAVIE (CBSMiami) - The Miami Dolphins have signed safety Brandian Ross from the team's practice squad to the active roster. To make room on the roster for Ross, the team has waived defensive tackle Bruce Gaston.
Ross originally joined the Dolphins after being claimed off waivers from the Oakland Raiders on August 31, 2014. He was waived by Miami on September 4, 2014 and then signed to the Dolphins practice squad on September 6, 2014.
The 6-1, 190-pound Ross spent two seasons (2012-13) with the Raiders. Over the course of his career, he has appeared in 30 games with 14 starts and has registered 115 tackles, two sacks and six passes defensed. In 2013, Ross played in a career-high 16 games with 13 starts for Oakland. He finished the season fourth on the team with 101 tackles.
Ross was signed by the Raiders off the Green Bay Packers practice squad on September 19, 2012 and went on to appear in 14 games with one start, compiling 14 tackles and three special teams tackles.
Ross originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Packers on July 28, 2011 and spent that season on Green Bay's practice squad.
